I love both versions, but a little part of me will always prefer the original Japanese.
But yeah, this is definitely the best part of the translated opening. Perfectly timed lyrics and images are…incredibly, heterosexually, perfectly timed.

But anyway, this is one of the many, many reasons I fucking LOVE Bowling For Soup.
Most bands, AFAIK, would either be insulted, confused or utterly indifferent to people thinking they wrote another band’s song (especially if said band and song existed some time before they were known as a band).
BFS had this happen and rather than do any of the above they were just like,
“Dude, why does everyone think we wrote and performed Stacy’s Mom?”
“IDK dude, it’s weird.”
“Hey, since this apparently happens a lot to almost everyone who doesn’t know the original band of the song, WHY DON’T WE DO A COVER AS LIKE A RUNNING JOKE OR SOMETHING?”
“EXCELLENT IDEA BRO!”
And then they did this.
